FAQ

Q: I have food allergies. Does Tali’s Artisanal bakery bake allergy free products?

  • All of our products are gluten free.
  • The following items are dairy free (in addition to being gluten free): Carrot Tahini Cake, Orange Coconut Cake, Cinnamon Maple Cake, Bohemian Almond Cake with Tart Cherries, Lemon Mint Cake, Nana's Banana Cake, Slivered Almond Cookies.
  • The products containing soy are the chocolate cakes and cookies, due to the soy lecithin component in the chocolate. All of our other products are soy free.
  • Most of Tali’s cakes and cookies contain nuts of some kind either as pieces or in a flour form. As you click open each specific item on the website, you will find a complete list of ingredients for that item. Please read it carefully.

Q: Does Tali’s Artisanal bakery have anything vegan or Paleo?

Sorry, at the moment all of our products contain either eggs or dairy, or both. And none of them is Paleo.

Q: Does Tali’s Artisanal bakery have anything sugar free or use sugar substitutes?

No, we don’t. We believe that artificial sweeteners are way more harmful to our body than sugar, so they are out. As for honey and agave they tend to change the flavor, color, and texture of the cakes and cookies, not always to our liking. And after all, they are sugar, too. Xylitol, although recommended in very small quantities, can be harmful if used in large quantities (cooking and baking). Sorry!

Q: What does Tali’s Artisanal bakery use in the baked goods instead of flour?

We do use flour, just not flours made of wheat, barley, and rye.  There are many flour options on the market today. Some have been in use for hundreds and thousands of years by Middle Eastern, Asian, African , and South American cultures. The flours we use in our baked goods are white rice, sweet rice, sorghum, almond, cornstarch, potato starch, and tapioca starch.

Q: Are you Kosher?

Not yet. But all of our ingredients are kosher.

Q: What are the serving sizes for some of your more popular products?

  •  8” coffee cake, 8-10 people
  • Mixed Nut Tart, 8-12 people
  • Flourless Chocolate Cake serves about 10-14 people

Q: How far in advance should I place my order?

We recommend that you place your order at least 48 hours in advance. We can usually accommodate most orders, however, the more notice you give us the more likely we will be able to fulfill your order. If you need your order delivered on a specific date, please specify it in the notes section when placing your order.

Q: Can I customize my cake order?

Sorry, not at the moment.

Q: Can I make changes to the product combinations offered on the website?

Sorry, we can't make changes in our product assortments. Items are shipped as they are listed.

Q: Should I refrigerate or freeze my cakes?

We specialize in baked goods made from scratch and baked in small batches, using only the finest ingredients. Our products are made without preservatives and should be enjoyed on the day received. If you plan on storing for later, tightly wrap the cake in plastic wrap and cover it with a tin foil. Cookies should be placed in an airtight container. Keep cakes and cookies in the freezer until ready to serve. Before serving, let defrost at room temperature for about an hour. If you wish to refrigerate cakes or cookies, place them in a Ziplock bag and consume within 3-4 days of delivery.

Q: Where can I find Tali’s Artisanal products?

Our online store is our primary selling venue. You may also find us in some farmers markets in South Florida. For more specific information please contact us or check our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TalisArtisanal

Q: Do you do events?

We do take orders for events. The desserts, however, are either shipped, delivered, or are picked up in bags and boxes. We do not set them up.
